Important changes!

The challenge blog has moved!

I’ve made the decision to host the blog elsewhere for numerous reasons, mainly because Wordpress is such a pain to use, as highlighted by my technical difficulties these past few weeks! All the fun will now be posted here:

Come on over, say hi, and follow the new blog to stay updated!

And 2 new challenges have been posted over there!

Technical difficulties!

I have to apologise for the lack of challenges! My laptop was eaten by a nasty virus, and although my hubby has managed to mostly repair it, it looks like the graphics card has died a sudden and traumatic death. As a result everything on my screen it green and pixelated, making photo editing and most other blog related activities impossible!

So I apologise for the absence of inspiration this week, and hope to resume normal service as quickly as possible! Sorry also to the DT who have been working as hard as ever creating layouts, which I have not yet been able to upload.

Easter Super-Sunday!

Today we have a new challenge for you as well as a tutorial from the fabulous Lisa Saunders!

First up, Lisa shows us how to get the most out of our negatives and create things like this:

And now for the challenge. Well, spring looks like it’s finally here! Is everyone else as excited as I am to have warmer weather on the way? So this week, let’s focus our challenge layouts on the theme of “”New Life”". Interpret that however you like! Happy Easter!

Bianca Ribeiro

“New Life” – Let’s be more tolerant and patient with our children, take more time to have fun together, have a picnic, walk in the sun …. or something better?
This is a small box where we can put candies, chocolates or anything else!!!

Tessa Buys

When I thought of “new life”, I thought about how different my life is today from just a year ago. I have a new son, a new home in a new state, new friends, and a new role as stay-at-home-mom (SAHM). The transition has been a difficult one, but a blessing. I chose to use springtime colors to accentuate my feelings about my new life, as well as highlight the time of year my layout was created.

Laura Johnson

When I read this challenge, I knew instantly I had to scrap about our long running house sale saga! Our new life has kind of already started, but starts properly once we find our next home! Selling the old one is a big, big step!

Elina Koutsouradi

This is probably one of the most accurate layouts I do in time. I am in a verge of changing my life and struggle with pressure so much, it was kind of stress relief to do this page. I loved using my stamps and tiny things that have been left over from my oh so many kits, I feel I recycled towards a new life!

Rebekah Brumby

New life for us this Easter is the arrival of Bailey, our 11 week old puppy :)

I thought with Easter on the weekend a nice picture of ducklings would be appropriate. It’s been ages since I’ve done a grid LO, but it seemed to suit these pictures and I enjoyed finally using the canvas material I’ve had for a while.

26th March challenge!

Now that spring is well underway, it’s time to scrap those changes! Here’s the challenge:

Metamorphasis – scrap a life-changing event that’s affected you. How
has it changed you as a person?

Lisa Saunders

Anna White-Sharman

This was quite a difficult challenge for me as really I don’t think that many life changing moments have happened to me!!

I decided to document how crafting has changed my life. I started to craft when I become ill as something to do to fill the long days and it’s really helped me to get through it. It’s very therapeutic for me and something that doesn’t take that much energy. It’s helped me make friends, make some money, be able to work for charity, I’ve made my own blog and I got on a design team which I’m really proud of!! They are small things but they have all helped me a lot. I love crafting so much I don’t know what I would do without it!

This layout turned out quite differently to how I saw it in my mind. I felt I needed to put a lot of journaling on it so I worked around that really! I would love to see what you came up with!

Nic Booth

This type of challenge is definitely right up my street! My favourite part of scrapbooking is being able to tell the stories connected to my photos and express the emotions I feel about whatever event I am focusing upon. Being asked to scrap a life-changing event that’s affected you gave me the ideal opportunity to create a page about becoming a Mum, how I felt at the time and how it changed me as a person.
I used one of the tiny photos taken in the hospital the morning after my son was born and created a frame to draw attention to this part of the page. This page was one of those pages that really was a joy to create from beginning to end and I can’t bring myself to put it away in an album just yet!

Fabi Ormerod

I really loved to do this one as it took me a lot to think about which picture and which moment Id talk about. Pregnancy would be too obvious for me….

So i took this picture taken just a a few minutes after my tatoo healed and talked about this moment in my life and how it transformed me.

Growing is not easy on any one and has not been on me either – sometimes we learn the toughest way.

So that’s what i talk about in the journaling. Now I wanna see what you girls have prepared for this one too!

Andrea Tuttle

I really wrestled with this topic. Currently, I am going through a really stressful time in my marriage and I totally thought that I would do a layout on my feelings about how my husband’s and I’s relationship has changed throughout our 7 years of marriage. But then something happened and I decided that for right now, I’m taking the easy road for this scrap challenge. I did a page about my youngest daughter. This topic is easy to see, easy to journal about, and is a simple easy layout that anyone can do. I masked with a tag some Glimmer Mist, cut out a couple pieces of white cardstock to mat the pictures with, and then I added the title followed by the journaling. I hope in the near future to tackle the challenge of the tougher “Metamorphosis” topic with a layout about my changing marriage. I can’t wait to see your takes on this challenge.
