Today I get to tell you that our next new designer is Nic Booth!

Please show her some love! I know this lady is going to blow you away with her designs for our challenges. Here is her take on the “About Me” challenge for the DT call:

How long have you been scrapping?
I discovered this wonderful hobby back in October 2006 through card making, when looking at some card making books in my local library, I stumbled across a book called ‘How to scrapbook’ by Joy Aitken. As someone who has always liked to take photos, create things and keep a diary, I’d found the perfect outlet to combine all three.  From that point on, I’ve become a bit hooked……   

 If you were stranded on a desert island with only scissors, glue and photos, what other 3 scrapping items would you  need to make your tropical “vacation” complete? 
Ooooh, hard question as I’m the type of person who would try and take every single one of my craft supplies to my crop,( just in case I needed it, you know )  If I absolutely had to make a choice, guess it would be a favourite collection pack of patterned paper, a pack of brush marker pens (so I could journal and use them with the following item), a stamp set. 

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done? 
Oh, I have done lots! Not quite sure if a lot of my antics should be shared though LOL! Here’s a shareable one – Last year I had to take a work trip to London.  At the time I was taking part in a Circle Journal where we had to look after a tiny pink cuddly toy clanger for a month and make a page about his adventures whilst he stayed with us.  Not being scrappers, I think my colleagues thought I was slightly strange when I told them I would be taking ‘Colin the Clanger’ with us.  We planned to fit in a bit of shopping and wanted to visit the Abercrombie and Fitch store. This originated into a dare where I was ‘tasked’ to get a photo taken of Colin with none other than the male model Mr Abercrombie and Fitch himself.  Guess what, I did it, although I think he thought I was slightly strange too!  I even scrapped it too! What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you?
Taking part in a parent’s running race at my son’s sports day, I’m not a good runner so don’t know why I agreed, especially given what happened next!  I was trying to keep up running as fast as I could (and failing) I overbalanced and did a flying nose dive through the air, landing flat on my face in a heap on the floor in front of the whole school!  Scottie beam me up time! 

What is your favourite band or musician?
Snow Patrol, especially the Eyes Wide Open album, can listen to it over and over and over…..

What is your dream job? 
I’d love to buy a property near to the coast as I love the sea and run my own b &b with a scrapping slant – I’d have a wonderful workshop brimming with scrappy goodness and hold crops, events, classes, ooooh, it’s my favourite dream.

How do you feel about joining The Studio Design Team?
Completely elated to be here and soooo looking forward to the experience!  Roll on those challenges!
