It’s finally here! The event that’s taken over my life for the last 3 months – our charity: extravaganza! THANK YOU to everyone who has supported The Studio and charity: water so far!

Firstly, let’s get the “need to know” stuff out of the way. Here’s how the challenges will work during the charity: extravaganza!

A challenge will be posted on the blog here every 2 hours. The first one will go live at 7pm london time on Friday 13th November (that’s right now, in fact!) and the final challenge will be posted at 7pm on Sunday 15th November, making 25 challenges in total!

You must NOT stop to sleep or eat. (Only joking!!!) Seriously, make sure you sleep and eat!

Only those who have made a monetary donation to the charity will be eligible to claim prizes. Others can play for fun only.

Once you have created your project, upload it to the gallery HERE and then link your picture in the comments section of the correct challenge on the blog.

So that’s enough of me rambling, let’s get to the first challenge, set by me! Sponsoring my challenge we have the fabulous Studio Calico!

The challenge is to scrap vintage! Interpret that as you will. You could use vintage photos, vintage embellishments or just a vintage style. Or go to town like I did and use all three!

The picture is of my Great Aunt when she was a toddler in 1926. I used some K&Co ephemera, paper flowers and butterflies from my stash, some “tape measure” ribbon and just a little bling!

To enhance my background paper and embellishments I brushed on some chalks. This is a subtle way to add colour without it being as obvious as ink or paint.

That’s it! Get scrapping, people! The chat thread is set up here, so come and have a natter if you have time between challenges!

The small print:

1.The deadline for all challenge entries this weekend is 7pm London time on Monday 16th November.
2.You must upload you layout to the gallery here and name it with the challenge day and time, then link it to the comments of the relevant post here on the blog.
3. Anyone can play along, but only those who are registered for the charity event and have made a donation before 7pm London time on Sunday 15th November are eligible to win prizes.
4. You may still sign up and make a donation right up until 7pm London time on Sunday 15th November.
5. Design Team members, sponsors and guests may participate and play for prizes subject to the above rules. They may not enter challenges which they have set or sponsored themselves.
6. Winners will be announced here on the blog on or before Tuesday 17th November. Prizes must be claimed within 4 weeks of the announcement or they will be put back “into the pot” and used for future challenges.

How will winners be chosen?

Each challenge will have its own prize. The winners of each individual challenge will be selected randomly (hellooo random.org) from all entries posted correctly. The winner will receive the prize for that challenge, plus gain 5 points.

Everyone who enters a challenge will gain 5 points per correctly completed challenge.

The FIRST person to link their completed challenge to the blog for each challenge will receive an additional 5 points.

So if you entered and won a challenge, and were the first to enter, you would be awarded a maximum 15 points.

The points will be tallied throughout the event by my good self (not looking forward to that part!) and then the person with the most points at the end of the event will win the overall prize.

PS each challenge must be enetered separately – you may not combine challenges!!
